These Terms and Conditions apply to event registrations, tickets and Collaborator packages offered by the Ontario Energy Collaborative Association (“OECA,” “we,” “us” or “our”) through oeca.ca.
1. Acceptance
By registering for an event, purchasing a ticket or purchasing a Collaborator package, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and OECA’s Event Registration and Refund Policy. If you register or purchase on behalf of an organization or another attendee, you confirm that you are authorized to do so and will communicate these terms to each attendee.
2. Registration and pricing
All prices are stated in Canadian dollars. Applicable taxes, including HST, will be identified during checkout. A registration is not confirmed until OECA has received any required payment and issued an order confirmation, ticket or RSVP confirmation.
OECA may refuse or cancel registrations resulting from pricing errors, suspected fraud, misuse of member registration, unauthorized resale or other violations of these terms. Any refund will be handled according to the Refund Policy and applicable law.
3. Member registration
Complimentary member registration is available only to eligible, current OECA members. OECA may verify membership before confirming admission. A complimentary registration obtained by someone who is not eligible may be cancelled or converted to a paid registration.
4. Collaborator packages
Platinum, Gold and Silver Collaborator packages include the benefits and complimentary registrations described at the time of purchase. The purchaser is responsible for providing attendee information by any communicated deadline. Unused registrations and benefits have no cash value and may not be applied to another event unless OECA agrees in writing.
5. Tickets and transfers
Tickets and registrations may not be resold for profit or used for unauthorized promotions. An attendee substitution may be requested by emailing [email protected] before the event begins. OECA may require the purchaser’s order information and replacement-attendee details.
OECA may deny admission where a ticket has already been used, duplicated, obtained improperly or transferred contrary to these terms.
6. Event changes
OECA may reasonably change an event’s schedule, speakers, agenda, format or room assignments. These changes do not normally qualify for a refund. If an event is postponed or moved, existing registrations will ordinarily remain valid for the revised event. Event cancellations are handled under the Refund Policy.
7. Attendee conduct
Attendees must act respectfully and follow venue, health, safety and accessibility requirements. OECA may remove an attendee whose conduct is unsafe, disruptive, discriminatory, harassing or otherwise inappropriate. A person removed for misconduct will not be entitled to a refund.
8. Photography and recordings
OECA may take general photographs or recordings at its events for communications, reporting and promotional purposes. Attendees who do not wish to be identifiable should notify [email protected] or speak with event staff. Attendees may not commercially record, livestream or reproduce event presentations without permission.
9. Personal information
OECA will use registration information to administer the event, process payment, communicate with attendees, maintain attendance records and meet legal or accounting requirements. Payment information is processed by OECA’s payment providers and is subject to their applicable terms and privacy practices.
10. Liability
Attendees participate voluntarily and remain responsible for their travel, accommodation, property and personal arrangements. To the maximum extent permitted by law, OECA is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from an event change, postponement or cancellation, including travel or accommodation expenses. Nothing in these terms limits a right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded.
11. General provisions
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada. If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply. OECA’s failure to enforce a provision does not waive it.
